The Coal Institute Fall Education & Engineering Seminar is scheduled for October 21-23, 2015, at the Mid-Pines Resort in Southern Pines, NC  Please mark your calendars and plan to attend this meeting.  The Meeting Chairman Tim Carr and Co-Chairman Tim McSherry have worked hard to put together a slate of speakers which we trust you will find informational.  These individuals are extremely knowledgeable industry leaders regarding all aspects of coal production, market conditions (both utility and producers) and the regulatory environment we must adapt to.

To kick off the seminar, on Wednesday evening Julien Dumoulin-Smith of UBS will speak about utility equities.  Our Thursday speakers are Mark Levin of BB&T who will address coal equities; Sam Andrus of HIS will cover the natural gas market; Steve Carter of Knight Hawk Coal will give us his perspective as an ILB producer; and John Hanou of Hanou Consulting will provide us with an ILB overview.

You will be receiving registration information for this meeting in the near future, however The Mid-Pines reservation line is open for reservations.  Please contact the Mid-Pines Resort at 800-747-7272 to make your reservation.  Our conference room rate is $160/night plus tax and resort fee.  Remember to mention The Coal Institute when making your reservations.

The Coal Institute is aware of our industry’s current issues and we understand the consequences it faces. However, we encourage our members to continue to support the institution that puts its resources back into the coal mining communities.

We look forward to seeing you at Mid-Pines!
